The Weight of the World

I’ve recently gained some more momentum with the comic. Different strands are coming together and I’m feeling the therapeutic benefit of this. Unconscious expression has been freed up and I’m noticing some nice examples of this. Here’s the latest: a detail from the current page-in-progress where the weight and tragedy of Brimham Rocks was unconsciously echoed by the pedal of a mangled bike (that I found on a beach in Tyne & Wear as part of an art project 30 years ago) delicately touching the ominous shadow of the moon. The ‘motif’ of precarious balance is echoed and there is an unconscious expression on the nature and substance of ’emotional weight’ that resonated for me. Needed to share it.
