I’m looking forward to 2 new art Jams starting up on the CBR Boards: Marvel & DC… & I’m pleased they accepted my idea of trying to link them up to make a big Marvel/DC Joint-Jam.
I’m hoping to take part in both Jams, and will also be posting my drawings here, on my own little corner of the internet…
The Artists Way
The book has been on my shelf for nearly 10 years. After a succession of recent synchronistic events I’m looking into it again. Feeling stuck with my art, but Hopeful.
CBR Rule #63 Jam: Dazzler
Cut and pasted from my CAF Gallery:
I met Grant at the Edinburgh Book Festival in August 2013, which was a real pleasure. We had an energised discussion about cave art, and I explained to him the theme of my sketch book, which he showed a lot of enthusiasm for. Grant was kind enough to think of a Glyph for his ‘cave wall’ which he drew in my book. I had the idea that I would draw him discovering the glyph in the book, however this idea’s been on a bit of a transformative journey over the last year and 3/4. I was finally in the right place to do my part of the drawing today, but in true Morrisonian fashion the person in the picture appears to look less like Grant and more like…. me.
Deleted Post, due to hack
Just deleted a post here that was an advert for a current movie. Another infestation from when my website got hacked a couple of months ago…. (writing this April 2017)
I think it may have had something to do with the Twitter app I’ve been using, but I’m not sure. It might also be something to do with the comments feature on pages/posts.
Thanks to my Sister & Niece for spotting the hack & letting me know!
New and Improved Female Spider-Man
Rule 63 Snowbird
I came up with this tonight for the CBR Rule 63 ‘gender-swap’Jam!
Narya realised that the best way to protect the sacred wildlife of Canada was to get into politics and influence big business to prioritise the environment.
He dons the magical helmet of the Shaman, but also the magical neck tie of Democracy! 😉 Vote Narya and stop pollution!
CBR Rule 63 Gender Swap Spider-Man
Here are 2 drawings I did for the Rule 63 Jam: for Peta Parker! For the first attempt I tried a different approach to the web design on the costume, but I wasn’t happy with how that looked….
Back to the drawing board, and for the second attempt I went back to a more classic red and blue look, but I did a redesign on the spider-logo. I’m happier with the look of this, and how physically strong Peta looks, but I still have a LOT to learn about streamlining my computer art techniques!
London Super Comic Con
We’ve made the journey from up North down to the Big Smoke and checked into our hotel ready for 2 days of comics fun and awesomeness!
